Sweet Potatoes

Trying something new this year (2026). Going to try growing sweet potatoes. I went to Wal-Mart this morning (April 3rd) and bought 3 of them: 2 orange and 1 purple.

I brought them home and rinsed them under cool running water to wash off any spray that may have been put on them by the various vendors/handlers.

I then went out to my prepared raised-bed (by prepared I am talking about a former bed that I used for composting). I am using small plastic ‘shoe boxes’ as cold frames and they have been in place for about a month. So the ground is nice and warm and the soil is fluffy.

I planted the potatoes and then covered them with my cold frames.

Now we wait and see how they turn out.

Just waiting for Spring to arrive

Spring!!!
